Main aim of OptimTex

Improving knowledge and skills in the field of textile software applications for students of Higher Education, as well as their employability within textile enterprises, by providing the adequate training instruments for their profession.

OptimTex - cíle

The main objectives of the project

  1. Preparing new educational materials on up-to-date textile design software applications.
    • Needs: Adaptation of educational materials in textiles by new design software applications.
    • Key indicators: 5 educational modules on textile software applications; 60 HEI students prepared.
  2. Improving employability of textile creatives within industry & research by means of adequate instruments.
    • Needs: Applying theoretical educational materials within the practice of textile enterprises and textile research.
    • Key indicators: One Guide on SWOT for technology transfer; 115 young professionals approached within multiplier events.
  3. Fostering digital skills uptake by implementing e-learning instruments, platform and glossary of modern textile terms.
    • Needs: Orientation towards valuable web content.
    • Key indicators: E-learning instrument and platform, digital multimedia content, Glossary with 100 modern textile terms.
  4. Creating educational synergies by enabling student mobility.
    • Needs: Coping with the challenges of new technological development and multidisciplinary fields.
    • Key indicators: Mobility for 36 HEI students and 15 lecturers within 3 Intensive Study Programs.

The OptimTex target group

  • A. Young professionals in textiles => addressed by Multiplier events  (Workshops)
  • B. HEI students => addressed by Intensive study programs & free web e-learning instrument

The main outcomes of the project

  • The Course of textile software applications with 5 modules on design software for weaving, knitting, virtual prototyping of clothing, embroidery and experimental design of e-textiles;
  • The Guide for techtransfer and for applying software solutions within textile enterprises;
  • The free web e-learning instrument for quick access on the project’s educational materials;
  • The project’s website with digital & multimedia content on techtransfer (www.optimtex.eu);
  • The Moodle e-learning platform with implemented courses in national languages (www.advan2tex.eu/portal/);
  • The 3 Intensive Study Programs - ISP (60 HEI students envisaged);
  • The Glossary with 100 modern textile terms for supporting students during ISP;
  • The 6 workshops / multiplier events (115 professionals from the textile industry envisaged)
  • Workplan, Quality Management Plan, Dissemination and Sustainability Plan for supporting project management
  • Dissemination: papers, posters, leaflets, press releases, presentations at events & fairs etc.

The envisaged impact

  • Increasing the level of competences for textile creatives by new educational materials adapted to the state-of-the-art in textile technology (design software of e-textiles by  weaving, knitting, virtual prototyping of clothing, embroidery and experimental design);
  • Preparing textile creatives with improved skills in adapting to the world-of-work (the guide for techtransfer and applying software solutions within enterprises, techtransfer portal);
  • Focusing knowledge and skills of young textile professionals and HEI students towards digitization (e-learning instrument, e-learning platform and glossary of modern textile terms);
  • Ensuring synergies in the training of HEI students by offering teaching experiences in alternative textile fields by the partner host universities (intensive study programs).
  • Main sustainable output of OptimTex is the Moodle e-learning platform, hosted on the INCDTP server at URL: www.advan2tex.eu/portal/.
